Coming Soon…

Coming soon:

1) Comparison of Delhi’s and Calcutta’s auto-walas!!!

2) Unprofessional people at a Professional school!!!

Also an all new design for my blog. Happy reading!!! ;)

Oh OK! Do not be mistaken by the title of this post. I surely ain’t talking about what you might be thinking of…

but rather of this another word which also begins with the letter ‘F’….. pheww… Finance!!!

First things first, what makes me say so? Is it the test i screwed today? (yes i did, it was my worst hour in Kolkata till now)

or is it something else( i prefer to be on the safer side, considering the fact that i read this article in the digit magazine which talks about your bosses/professors reading your orkut profiles/blogs)

so you already have a hint!!! don’t you?

I was up all night long yesterday, and i managed to cover up almost all of the syllabus, but as soon as the question paper was given to us, to ponder over some silly numbers… ughhh all those concepts just disappeared. It seemed like words and letters were flying/swimming/dancing/having sex (so poverted) and what not!!! By the way that remind me of Darsheel in Taare Zameen Par. This chap had done a commendable job. Ok trust me i ain’t listening to the “meri maa” number as much as u think. but yeah i do miss mom. ;(

Taare zameen Par also reminded me of this great actor called Aamir Khan whose blog I’d been following for a while now and i guess he writes pretty well. Keep the good work going dude. Im waiting for your next production in which your nephew makes a debut.

 phewww…. “Finance”….

I also went for my PF 16 test analysis today and trust me guys this test is amazing. I myself was all so sceptical about the analysis of this test, but it surely rocks. The counsellor happened to know me almost 100 percent just by checking out that data on her desktop.

yeah i remember she told me to stay optimistic. So the god part is that my business communication test was just amazing (lol, everyone else’s was!). pheww… Finance….

ohh Finance, i have an economics test tomorrow and i really plan to study hard tonight.

P.S. This blog post is meant to reduce my “F” for frustation over my “F” for Finance test.

and mam if you are reading this please dont take it personally. lol.

pheww…. “finance”…

Sometimes words are hard to find,

I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT PERFECT LINE…

well i surely ain’t reciting the great Bryan Adams number, but just trying to come up with a reason for my highly delayed blog post.

Its been time I’m in kolkata now (27 days to be very precise, and somehow i prefer calling it calcutta!!!). My previous blog posts would take you back to my final examinations back in Delhi, after completion of which i came rushing to the city of joy for my mba from Icfai business school.

yeah!! buddies back home, i surely miss you all very much!!! i really do. Sometimes I’ll just sit alone doing nothing and recollect all those great memories. Love you all.

It was a sunday when i reached the Howrah station and was really excited to cross the all so famous Howrah bridge. i didn’t find much of traffic that day which was surely a blessing. I carefully observed the city on my 1 hour drive from the station trying to make opinions on what the city of joy had in store for me. i reached at my relative’s place where i had to stay before i shifted to my pg close to my college in salt lake.

So after freshening up I visited the college in salt lake and got a room for myself in a pg nearby where i would be spending the next two years.

Well i started up with the prepatory classes which ended on the 31st may.  This was the time when i started getting to know people and visited the nearby hotspots in saltlake like the city centre( this place is over rated i guess), nalbarn lake(the best part is that its right behind my college and the roof top canteen of our college has an amazing view of this place), swimming pool and the presidency college(the chaat and the puchkas(golgappas/pani puri and the pao bhaji was amazing). Also while travelling a couple of times to and back from jadavpur where my relatives stay i got a taste of the calcutta city, the trams, the people and the beautiful girls around, the rickety long buses, the bad driving sense of bus and cab drivers(worse than our very own blue line drivers in delhi). Trust me this is the place if u want to meet the Michael Schumachaer wanna-bes.

Pheww… although I’m still waiting to discover the actual calcutta city and whose description i would cover in my next blog post whenever i visit the place. And did i say beautiful girls of kolkata. Well believe it or not, the girls are surely very beautiful(atleast i found them so, and the ladies are surely very well dressed). Won’t comment on the men as they were no where close. Although according to my experience in the city so far, i find the young couples here very “kuchi ku kinds”, if you understand what it means. otherwise, never mind. But one thing for sure, people here are a bit lazier and slow compared to the other metros. No offence though.

I’ve also learnt a bit of bengali and can easily ask for a cup of tea at the local shop(or anything else)… dada (bhaiya/big brother) chaa (tea) aacche (hai/u have). or dada “whatever” aache.

By the way don’t get shocked, “aami bangla jaane na” (i dont know a word in bengali).

I’ve now started with the 1st semester and its turning out to be great already. i’m loving it.

Ohh before i forget today was the 2nd day of consecutive bandhs here in kolkata which i really found a very sad way of preotests troubling the common man. Damn the hopeless politicians of our nation would be the most polite comment on the situation.

I would like to thank Sachi a lot (who happens to be a senior but have been very kind, sweet and helpful. The “tea” is losing out(she knows the joke), also, she talks good, looks good and cooks good…hehehe had to mention).

thanx Ritika (i love teasing her for anything and everything, and i know she hates me)

thanx Himanshu (for those ajs(attempted/adult jokes) hehehe

thanx Baharul (the cute guy) lol hahaha

thanx shraddha (i appreciate your intelligence and genuineess (u managed to know that i’m a kameena on day one)

well i can go on but these are actually the people i’ve started knowing inside out and getting to know more day by day. There are a lot more buddies like shreyans, manish, ritu, ashima, ankan and others whom i’m getting along well with also)

Amitanshu,my new roommate happens to be a senior also and is very helpful and an exemplary guy… he’s on a vacation and i pass my time listening to music on his laptop.)

And the story behind the perfect line is that I had so much on my mind to write but was delaying delaying and delaying, that i might have messed up and also missed so much in this entry of mine which i would surely cover in my next blog.

Some times words are hard to find, i’ve been looking for that perfect line…

uhhh!!! its been some time i bloggED… exams… then i’ve moved to kolkata for my mba and still waiting for the laptop!!! wait wait… wait fo some more time n u’ll see me blogging again!!!

hehe haha,

charu consul

this pictue was clicked by a friend at new friends colony market around 2 months back at a friend’s birthday party…

do make somebody smile today!!!

Recently, i picked up a popular book called “Freedom at midnight” by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre from my grandfather’s huge collection. The pages had already turned yellow but it somehow gave me a more zest to go through the book. Going through the book was quite an eye opener. Most of us think/have been taught at high school that Lord Mountbatten was sent to divide our nation. Though this book says that he was actually sent to put up a solid plan to help India from dividing!!!

Lord Mountbatten also had proposed the day of India’s freedom in a haste and that actually had created huge controversy back home. Although this post throws light on the controversy it created in India.

i surely suggest you to read the book as it covers so much from the Indian politics, Gandhi, Jinnah, Nehru and of course a few things we never knew. here is one of them. This happens to be my favourite.

Chapter number 8, “A DAY CURSED BY STARS”.

“Nowhere, however, did his choice of the date of 15th august for India’s independence cause as much surprise and consternation as it did in the ranks of a corporation which ruled the lives of millions of Hindus with a tyranny more oppressive than that of English, congress, and maharajas combined. Mountbatten had commited the unpardonable fault of announcing his choice without first having consulted representatives of the most powerful occult body in India, the jyotishis , the astrologers.”

“As soon as the radio announced Mountbatten’s date, Astrologers all over India began to consult their charts. Those in the holy city of Benaras and several others in the south immediately proclaimed 15 August a date so inauspicious that India ‘would better advised to tolerate the British one day longer than risk eternal damnation’.

in Calcutta, Swami Madananand on listening to the date rushed to his celestial charts and started making calculations

“…….”from midnight, 14th August throughout 15 August, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus would lie in the most accursed site of the heavens, the ninth house of Karamstahn.”

“What have they done? What have they done?” he shouted to the heavens whose machinations were interpreted for man.

“Despite the discipline acquired in years of yoga, meditation and tantric studies in a temple in the hills of Assam the astrologer lost control lost control of himself. Seizing a piece of paper he sat down and wrote an urgent appeal to the man inadvertently responsible for this celestial catastrophe.”

” ‘For the love of God,’ he wrote to Louis Mountbatten, ‘do not give India her independence on 15 August. If floods, drought, famine and massacres follow, it will be because free India was born on a day cursed by the stars.’ “

As i read ahead, it also stated that the Indians were ready to give up freedom for another year just because of a date….

With due respect to the Indian traditions, cultures and astrology, i some how feel weird when i read such things. Just reminded me of the 1st test match between India and south Africa at Chennai. on the second day evening almost every national news channel had astrologers sitting with charts/ cards/ insight… and everyone, yes all of them said Sehwag would go up the next day and hit the world record maximum score ever(some 400 something… don’t even remember).oh you know the result don’t you? We are so much entangled in these things that we actually force our thinking, our action. Last when did your family(or your neighbor’s for name sake) went up to a local pundit with a ‘janampatri’?, or when was it last that some famous astrologer said that the World was coming to an end?.

“Create Life!!!”

Tickle your funny bone:

Just a few of my favourites:

“The maharaja of Alwar was a man of such charm and culture that he had been able to seduce a succession of Viceroys into tolerating his activities. he happened to believe he was a reincarnation of the God Rama. As a result he constantly wore black silk gloves to protect his divine fingers from contaminating touch of mortal flesh…..”

No offences again!!! ;)

The first SAARC band festival was organised in Delhi back in December (30th November -2nd December). The festival included performances of around 14 bands spread over these three days!!!

i was on my way back home from the north campus when i actually saw lots of people running over to the central park located in Connought place, Delhi. At first sight it looked to me that some artist would be performing tonight right there and so the crowd!!!

Out of sheer excitement i went up to the constable guarding the entry and asked him what had to take place… ” kayi desho ke bands yahan show karenge” was his reply!!! “ticket kitna lagega?” was what i threw back at him as i could see no counter around!!!

“itne log ghus rahe hai toh free hi hoga” was his polite reply.

As this conversation came to an end good music suddenly came up and it was the Advaita band(well known among university guys opened the show!!! they really sounded pretty good so i decided to give the show around 10 minutes or so!!!

And they actually were good!!! i decided to stay on. Suddenly Nikhil CHinnapa, the Mtv vj popped up and really entertained everyone in the crowd with his really humorous jokes (specially for the young couples cooing the park).

i didn’t have much work back home so i decided i’m gonna stay here for quite some time!!!

<<<<<<<<<post to be completed>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

pheww… final year exams are just around the corner and i really haven’t done much!!!

Five ‘great’ subjects, each subject, with minimum two books, with a thousand pages each…. lots of pressure lots of pressure…. lol

i plan to study from tonight itself and that forced me to make a ‘to do’ list for myself. The worst part is that its the end of the year and i still don’t have half the notes. Would go to college in the morning and get them photocopied!!! and i don’t have the books either!!!!

Just waiting for Isha (my best friend) , who’s been teaching me for exams since the 1st year to come over and teach for the final exams too!!!

I ‘hope’ I do well this time around!!! did i say hope??? i wish!!!

i will study!!!

i will study!!!

i will study!!! (repeated over a thousand times)

Yawning… lets start it from tomorrow!!! all fresh!!! ;)

p.s. I’ll surely stop procrastinating from tomorrow

Alright so i am back to blogging after a pretty long time… and i’m kinda finding wordpress better… looks much more professional i guess!!! and i say this after switching over from one blog to another… to another… and another!!!

Still around a couple of weeks left before the final exams begin… this wait has made me a ‘very’ lazy guy… compared to the already lazy chap i’ve been throughout the year!!!

a bit senti too over the fact that college ended… and straight after exams i got to rush to kolkata for my mba at ibs!!!

i think i made some very good friends here at andc, n ill really miss everything… friends ofcourse, don’t ask about the college…. i’m really hating a couple of profs in there too who made life hell lately!!

I’ll kill you guys once i pass out!!!

I’m getting to know new people joining the same place i am these days!!! i hope i make a great circle out there too!!!

i also hope i continue writing this time!!!
